We are currently seeking an experienced Quality Manager to join our manufacturing site, with a strong background in the automotive industry. This is a hands-on role for a driven individual who can take ownership of the Quality Management System, ensuring compliance with ISO9001 and maintaining high standards throughout the business.
As Quality Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of quality control, audits, customer liaison, and continuous improvement initiatives, while driving a quality-first culture across the company.
Key Responsibilities:
" Take full responsibility for the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the ISO9001 Quality Management System.
" Ensure the company's Quality Policy is understood and effectively applied at all levels.
" Lead and facilitate Management Review Meetings, producing follow-up action plans and tracking progress.
" Plan and conduct internal and external audits - covering system, product, and process.
" Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the business, identifying key opportunities and supporting operational teams in their execution.
" Liaise directly with customer quality representatives, ensuring effective communication on all quality concerns and during new product introductions.
" Investigate and respond to customer warranty claims, providing root cause analysis and corrective actions.
" Introduce, track, and report on business KPIs and quality targets.
" Represent the company during all interactions with third-party bodies, including auditors and certification bodies.
" Develop, implement, and control quality documentation including procedures, work instructions, Care Points, PQS (Product Quality Standards), and inspection aids.
" Work collaboratively with departmental supervisors to resolve quality issues on the shop floor.
" Prepare and submit PPAP and SPAP documentation, leading the process through to customer PSW (Part Submission Warrant) approval.
" Upload and maintain product data using the IMDS (International Material Data System) for customer submissions.
" Ensure all relevant staff are adequately trained in quality procedures related to automotive manufacturing.
" Maintain the calibration schedule for all measuring and process-critical equipment.
" Provide leadership and support to the Final Inspection team.
" Support basic plant and equipment maintenance when required.
" Assist with and contribute to Health & Safety compliance and activities on-site.
" Undertake any other reasonable duties required by the business.
Key Requirements:
" Proven experience in a Quality Manager or Senior Quality role within the automotive manufacturing sector.
" Strong knowledge of ISO9001, with the ability to manage and maintain the QMS independently.
" Experience leading and preparing for internal and external audits.
" Hands-on experience with PPAP, SPAP, IMDS, and customer quality portals.
" Excellent communication skills with the ability to build strong relationships at all levels - internally and with external customers/auditors.
" Confident in managing KPIs and using data to drive decisions.
" A proactive and continuous improvement mindset.
" Familiar with automotive quality standards and customer expectations.
