Warehouse Operative

We are seeking diligent and physically fit Warehouse Operatives to join our team in Corby. This role is integral to the smooth operation of our logistics and distribution processes, requiring a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to safely handle heavy items.

Job Title: Warehouse Operative
Location: Corby
Pay Rate: £12.50 per hour
Shifts: Monday to Friday. Candidates will be assigned one of the following shift patterns:
6:00 AM to 3:00 PM
6:00 AM to 12:00 PM
9:00 AM to 6:00 PM

Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of tasks crucial to warehouse efficiency, including:

• Picking and Packing: Accurately picking goods from stock locations using scanners or manifest sheets and preparing them for shipment.
• Goods In/Out: Receiving, checking, and accurately documenting incoming stock, and loading outgoing shipments.
• Stock Control: Assisting with regular stock counts and maintaining an organized and tidy warehouse environment.
• Manual Handling: Safely and efficiently moving, stacking, and organizing products, which will include heavy lifting (up to 25kg, with safe manual handling practices and equipment where appropriate).
• Adherence to Safety: Strictly following all company health and safety procedures, particularly regarding manual handling and the operation of warehouse equipment.
• General Duties: Performing other ad-hoc warehouse tasks as required by the management team.

Requirements:
Essential

• Physical Fitness: Must be physically capable of performing heavy lifting and standing/walking for extended periods throughout the shift.
• Reliability: Excellent timekeeping and attendance record.
• Work Ethic: Proactive, hardworking, and able to work effectively as part of a team and unsupervised.
• Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy required for picking, packing, and stock documentation.
• Safety Awareness: A strong commitment to working safely at all times.

Desirable:

• Previous experience working in a fast-paced warehouse or logistics environment.
• Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) or hand-held scanners.
