Youth Development Workers (Temporary – 8 Weeks)
Location: Redruth & West Cornwall
Salary: £14.82 per hour
Hours: 37 hours per week, full-time, rolling rota including evenings, weekends, and Bank Holidays

Are you passionate about empowering young people to achieve their full potential?

We are looking for dedicated Youth Development Workers to join our clients team on a temporary 8-week basis. You will play a key role in supporting young people aged 16–25 living in, which provide supported accommodation across West Cornwall.

This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in young lives while working as part of a supportive and professional team.

Key ResponsibilitiesAs a Youth Development Worker, you will:
  • Provide 1:1 key worker support, helping young people build life skills and achieve personal goals.

  • Update risk assessments and management plans to ensure safety and wellbeing.

  • Deliver personal development sessions, focusing on life skills, resilience, and aspirations.

  • Support young people in attending medical appointments and accessing essential services.

  • Collaborate with professionals through multi-agency meetings, ensuring effective support planning.

  • Facilitate group activities and learning programmes, building confidence and community engagement.

Working Pattern
  • 37 hours per week on a four-week rolling rota

  • Shifts include: 8am–4pm, 10am–6pm, and 1:30pm–9:30pm

  • Some lone working is required, supported by a multidisciplinary team

Essential skills and qualities:
  • Ability to engage with and inspire young people.

  • Understanding of safeguarding, mental health, and support planning.

  • Strong organisational skills and confidence in lone working.

  • Flexibility, resilience, and ability to adapt communication styles.

  • A full driving licence and access to a vehicle.

  • An Enhanced Adult and Child DBS check (required).

Desirable:
  • Experience in youth work, social care, or supported housing.

  • Innovative and proactive approach to problem solving.
