Chartered Surveyor - Commercial & Markets

We’re working with a prominent organisation seeking a Chartered Surveyor to oversee the management and optimisation of a busy commercial market portfolio. This is a hands-on role with a strong focus on estates and property management, service charge oversight, lease events, and strategic asset performance.

You’ll play a central role in supporting the delivery of key financial and operational targets, while also deputising for the Markets Manager when required. Ideal for a surveyor with experience in retail, wholesale or markets environments, and a passion for driving efficiency and value.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage lease renewals, rent reviews, arrears, and new lettings for a diverse portfolio
  • Lead service charge budgeting, recharges, and expenditure monitoring
  • Liaise directly with agents and tenants to secure favourable commercial terms
  • Prepare and present clear, accurate reports and recommendations to senior stakeholders
  • Support business improvement initiatives and help identify asset enhancement opportunities
  • Build strong working relationships across internal teams and with external partners
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety and risk management processes
  • Provide out-of-hours standby cover as required

What We’re Looking For:
  • Chartered Surveyor (MRICS)
  • Strong experience in commercial property leasing and estates management
  • Demonstrated skill in budgeting, service charge management and reporting
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Sound understanding of the commercial property market
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Ability to manage a demanding and varied workload

Desirable:
  • Experience working in retail or market environments
  • Familiarity with property management systems
  • Degree in a relevant property-related field
