Job Description

We are looking for a Senior Catchment Analyst to join Thames Water on a permanent basis.

We are seeking a highly motivated analyst with expertise in wastewater networks, ideally with a background in pollution, flooding and blockage management. You will have experience in either planning or analysing work to determine and deliver operational interventions.

Working within our Environmental Performance team, you will be part of a team whose purpose is to proactively prevent the escape of sewage from our wastewater network.

As the Senior Catchment Analyst, you will be an integral part of the team that drives performance in this area, working with our contract partners, other team members and through engagement across Thames Water, you will reduce the number of sewage spills through directly creating, managing and analysing work that is carried out by field teams.

What you will be doing as a Senior Catchment Analyst
  • Supporting and providing technical direction for the TCI analysts within the team.
  • Overseeing contractor performance when your line manager is on leave to ensure the programme stays on track.
  • Delivery of the Targeted Catchment Investigations (TCI) workstream. Reducing the number of pollution, sewer flooding and blockages that occur from Thames Water's wastewater network.
  • Analysis of previous pollutions, flooding and blockages to determine the likely root cause of the issues that gave rise to these issues. Using this insight to create work packs for field teams to investigate.
  • Acting as the key technical interface with the field teams, directing activities within the field.
  • Analysing the output of field investigations to determine the best resolution, then directing these resolutions either through the TCI field teams or through other departments within Thames Water.
  • Recording and analysing the success of the targeting, investigation and resolution activities for both performance reporting and to seek opportunities that develop, improve and drive the process.
  • Customer liaison - The TCI process involves work on customer premises as well as in the street. You will support the actions required to manage the customer interface, keeping customers informed and minimising the impact and disruption to customers during the work
  • You will liaise with regional teams and other central teams to ensure the TCI workstream compliments and aligns with work being undertaken by the regional teams.
What should you bring to the role?
  • Have a passion to improve our environmental performance.
  • Have previous experience from working in a similar role or industry.
  • Experience in planning or analysing technical or field operations.
  • Experience in positively influencing and working collaboratively with all levels of an organisation to achieve improved business outcomes.
  • Qualification in an environmental, science, data, mathematical or engineering discipline.
