Job Description
As part of our ongoing digital transformation, this role will be pivotal in enhancing how asset data is collected, submitted, and used across the organisation. You’ll lead improvement programmes, influence stakeholders, and help embed a culture that values high-quality asset data. With its wide-reaching scope, this role will have a significant impact on how we manage our assets, make decisions, and deliver value across the business.
What you’ll be doing as an Asset Data Improvement Lead
As the Asset Data Improvement Lead, you’ll be responsible for leading and delivering a continuous improvement programme focused on asset master data submission. You’ll work closely with stakeholders to simplify processes, improve submission levels and data quality, and ensure that asset data supports business value and operational performance.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Leading the improvement programme for asset data provision processes.
- Conducting root cause analysis to identify and implement improvement activities.
- Driving simplification and clarity in asset data submission processes.
- Supporting stakeholders with training, guidance, and timely resolution of issues.
- Establishing success criteria and performance metrics for data quality.
- Ensuring asset data requirements are embedded in contracts with suppliers.
- Supporting the development of a centre of expertise in master data management.
What you should bring to the role
We’re looking for someone with strong project and stakeholder management skills, a background in process improvement, and a passion for data quality. You should be confident working across teams and systems, and able to influence others to adopt best practices in asset data management.
To be successful, you’ll need:
- Strong reporting and performance management skills, with the ability to develop and embed reporting frameworks that demonstrate compliance and drive continuous improvement in asset data quality.
- Proven ability to engage and influence stakeholders to build capability and embed best practices in asset data submission.
- Experience in managing projects or improvement programmes, with a focus on prioritisation, tracking, and delivering measurable outcomes.
- Expertise in business process improvement and root cause analysis, particularly within asset or data management environments.
- A solid understanding of quality assurance and compliance across the data management lifecycle.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills, both written and verbal.
This is your opportunity to play a key role in shaping how we manage and improve asset data across the business. You’ll work with a wide range of stakeholders and contribute to strategic data initiatives that support safe, efficient, and reliable services.
- Competitive salary up to £64,000 per annum depending on skills and experience
- Annual Leave - 26 days holiday per year increasing to 30 with the length of service (plus bank holidays)
- Performance related pay plan up to 10% of salary
- Generous Pension Scheme through AON
- Private Medical Health Care
- Access to lots of benefits to help you take care of you and your family’s health and wellbeing, and your finances – from annual health MOTs and access to physiotherapy and counselling, to Cycle to Work schemes, shopping vouchers and life assurance.
