Job Description
The role will evolve and manage the roadmap for the centralised data platform to bring together our silo data sets, automate, add security & structure and make data accessible to the business to drive insight-led decision making.
What you’ll be doing as a Data Platform Lead
- Design and creation of automated maintenance processes leveraging various tools, and identification and suggestions of new tools which reduce effort by the data platform team to support the platform.
- Support the data hub foundation in promoting the standardisation of delivery across the data landscape.
- Leadership and area management of a scaling system, coordinating the activities involved
- Work closely with data products teams so they can exploit and get maximum benefit from the platform, making sure that a wide range of usage scenarios are catered for.
- Maintain and document the platform elements so that they can be easily understood and accessed, as well as utilised/supported in the long term.
Base location – Hybrid – Clear Water Court Reading/ Kemble Court Reading
Working pattern – 36 hours Monday to Friday
What you should bring to the role
To thrive in this role, the essential criteria you’ll need is:
- Training or certifications in Azure.
- Databricks certified data engineer.
- Efficient in building data platforms and associated maintenance processes for enterprise solutions.
- Core cloud (Azure) based technical knowledge.
- Wide range of strong platform support and technical skills. (i.e. Azure DevOps, API creation, PowerShell, Python, SQL)
- Stakeholder management.
- Understanding of architecting solutions taking into account wider considerations.
- Structured problem-solving techniques.
- Experience in the Utilities industry.
