What you’ll be doing as an Environmental and Sustainability Assurance Specialist

• Manage environmental risks and opportunities for a range of capital projects throughout their lifecycle.
• Ensure environmental compliance for our projects, implementing appropriate screening, de-risking and mitigation strategies.
• Provide carbon and sustainability technical assurance for projects throughout solution development, leading into design and construction.
• Manage the assurance of environmental, heritage, ecology, waste, sustainability and carbon documentation submitted by delivery partners.
• Communicate environmental legislation and best practices effectively to stakeholders.
• Promote continuous improvement of environmental and sustainability performance of all projects.
• Conduct site inspections to ensure compliance with environmental legislation.

Based in Hybrid, Clearwater Court - Reading, you will be required to be on-site and in the office as part of your role for 2-3 days a week.

36 hours a week, Monday to Friday, offering a salary of between £42,000 and £52,000 per annum.

This role does require a driver's licence and access to a car.

The essential criteria to help you succeed in this role are:

• Be educated to a degree or equivalent in environmental/sustainability or something similar.
• To have an interest in project delivery and a passion for protecting and enhancing the environment.
• Take a proactive approach and be able to adapt to changing scenarios to solve problems and maintain Thames Water standards.
• This role does require a driver's licence and access to a car.

Additional skills and experiences would be great to have/bring: 

• Previous experience in the Utility industry is preferable.
• Have a proactive approach and an eagerness for learning.
