Production Engineer

Our client, an established engineering manufacturer, is seeking a skilled and motivated Production Engineer to join their growing team in Worthing. This role involves hands-on assembly, testing, and quality assurance of engineered products, working closely with technical documentation and customer specifications. The successful candidate will play a key part in delivering high-quality products and supporting continuous improvement across the business.


Key Duties :

• Interpret and fully understand project documentation, including drawings, specifications, and scope of supply.
• Build components and assemblies to defined dimensions and tolerances, following all approved procedures.
• Conduct product testing in line with customer-approved testing procedures, often in the presence of customers or third-party inspectors.
• Perform paint preparation and painting in accordance with customer and internal procedures.
• Accurately record all productive and non-productive time to support correct cost allocation.
• Ensure all work complies with the company’s Quality Management System and relevant industry and HSE standards.
• Take responsibility for the quality of your own work and contribute actively to ongoing quality improvement initiatives.
• Carry out in-house maintenance and repair work, including strip-down and assessment of customer equipment and production of detailed reports.
• Collaborate with engineers, production staff, and other departments to resolve assembly or production issues.
• Complete all tasks efficiently, accurately, and within defined time and cost parameters.
  
  

Critical Skills & Competencies :

• College degree or equivalent experience.
• Strong technical understanding of engineered products and services.
• Effective verbal communication skills, especially in team or group environments.
• Clear and accurate written communication, with good grammar and attention to detail.
• Strong decision-making skills and commercial awareness.

• Salary £28,000 - £33,000

• Monday - Friday / 8am - 5pm
