Air Conditioning Engineer – Heathrow Airport – £22.50 to £26.00 per hour (PAYE)

Location: Heathrow Airport
Rate: £22.50 – £26.00 per hour (PAYE, based on experience)
Contract: Permanent, 40 hours per week

We are currently working with a leading facilities and construction specialist, operating successfully for over 10 years across high-end commercial sectors including airports, luxury retail, and showrooms. Due to ongoing growth, they are now seeking an experienced Air Conditioning / Refrigeration Engineer to join their dedicated team based at Heathrow Airport.

This is a long-term opportunity for a qualified engineer looking to work in a secure, prestigious environment with excellent training and career development.

Key Responsibilities:

You will be responsible for carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across airport lounges, restaurants, and retail areas, including:
  • VRV/VRF systems
  • Split and multi-split units
  • Cold rooms and fridges
  • Air Handling Units (AHUs)
  • General mechanical and building services maintenance
  • PPM, diagnostics, and repair work across systems
Candidate Requirements:
  • NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in Air Conditioning & Refrigeration
  • FGAS Category 1 certification
  • Experience with PPM and reactive maintenance
  • Comfortable working independently in a live commercial environment
  • Must live within a commutable distance to Heathrow Airport
Note: All required airside training and competency certifications will be provided by the employer.

Working Hours:
  • Day shifts: 07:45 – 16:45
  • Night shifts (typically): 21:00 – 03:30/04:00
    (Average of 6–8 nights per month, flexible around lounge access and PPM requirements)
Overtime Rates:
  • Time and a half for night shifts (Monday to Saturday)
  • Double time on Sundays
