We are recruiting for an experienced Rent Service Officer for a Local Authority in Central London
Purpose of Job
  • The role is within a busy Rent Service Team.
  • Your aim is to maximise rent and arrears collection by effectively manging a designated ‘patch’ of residential and non-residential accounts, ensuring the strict adherence of the pre court action protocol at all times.
  • You will strive to meet collection targets in a challenging economic, social and political environment, whilst responding to the needs of vulnerable residents by providing advice and making the appropriate referrals to support agencies.
  • You will also seek out and identify “good practice” for arrears recovery that can be implemented within the team.
 
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
  • Knowledge and understanding of tenancy management including successions, abandonments and use and occupation Knowledge and understanding of the legal aspects of housing management, rent arrears collection methods and Northgate Ability to deal effectively with difficult customers both on the phone and face to face, remaining calm and professional at all times.
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet all deadlines and key performance indicators set for the service. Experience of dealing sensitively and effectively with all sections of the community within a customer focused organisation. Experience of managing rent arrears cases.
 
This is a contract role, and you will need to have experience in a similar role.
