Hours: 36 hours per week
Rate: £328.75 per day
Kingston & Richmond Local Authority are seeking an experienced Preparing for Adulthood (PfA) SEND Team Manager to join their SEND service. This role will work alongside an existing Team Manager to jointly lead the PfA Team and support the delivery of high-quality outcomes for children and young people with SEND.
Key Responsibilities:
- Line management of a sub-team of PfA Coordinators and a Senior PfA Coordinator, including supervision, appraisal, induction and ongoing development
- Leading whole-team and sub-team meetings and contributing to service improvement projects
- Oversight of EHCP statutory processes, including annual reviews, phase transfers, placement decisions and ceasing processes in line with the SEND Code of Practice
- Managing and advising on complex casework, including children and young people in alternative provision, EOTAS and Elective Home Education
- Arranging and leading phase transfer events, annual reviews, coffee mornings and school/college visits
- Joint working with local FE colleges to ensure compliance with statutory deadlines and alignment with the Preparing for Adulthood agenda
- Monitoring KPIs, feeding data into weekly performance meetings and overseeing review systems
- Chairing meetings, mediations and LA decision-making panels where required
- Quality assurance of EHCPs and providing constructive feedback to staff
- Working closely with families, schools, colleges, health and social care partners to resolve complex issues and ensure provision is delivered effectively
- Managing complaints and monitoring high-risk cases to prevent escalation
- Significant experience managing SEND/EHCP services, ideally within a Preparing for Adulthood context
- Strong knowledge of SEND legislation, statutory processes and the SEND Code of Practice
- Proven leadership and people-management skills
- Experience chairing meetings, panels and mediations
- Ability to manage performance, quality assurance and complex stakeholder relationships
