Art Teacher – SEMH Provision
Location: Sunderland 
Start date: September
Hours: Full-time, term time only (Monday to Friday)

We’re looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated and inspiring Art Teacher to join a supportive SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) provision from September.

The ideal candidate will have experience supporting learners with complex needs and challenging behaviour, or at least a strong understanding of how to adapt in an SEMH setting. You’ll be teaching Art, Creative Arts and Photography, so a solid grasp of the curriculum and a creative, flexible approach is key.
This is a full-time, term-time only role – perfect for someone who wants to make a real difference in a setting that values patience, humour and resilience.

In order to obtain the higher pay bracket, a proven track record in the same role is required, as well as QTS. Instructors without QTS will be considered with either experience or a subject specialiam degree. 

What we’re looking for:

• Experience teaching Art or similar creative subjects
• Confidence managing behaviour in a calm and supportive way
• A good understanding of the national curriculum
• Someone who’s positive, resilient and has a great sense of humour
• SEMH experience would be a real bonus
