Special Needs Teaching Assistant – Primary SEND – North Birmingham

This vibrant and nurturing primary SEND school in North Birmingham is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their team from September. As a Teaching Assistant in this setting, you will work closely with class teachers and other professionals to support pupils with a range of needs including Autism, communication difficulties, and complex learning requirements. The successful Teaching Assistant will be proactive, patient, and resilient – someone who understands the importance of building strong, trusting relationships with both pupils and colleagues. You will be joining a team where the role of the Teaching Assistant is truly valued and where your contribution makes a lasting impact.

Job Role:
  • Supporting teaching and learning in a primary SEND classroom as a Teaching Assistant.
  • Working 1:1 and in small groups to deliver interventions as a Teaching Assistant.
  • Assisting the class teacher with planning and adapting lessons as a Teaching Assistant.
  • Promoting emotional regulation and positive behaviour as a Teaching Assistant.
  • Building strong relationships with pupils and supporting their personal development as a Teaching Assistant.
