We are recruiting for a Clinical Psychologist to join a specialist school that provides a nurturing, therapeutic, and inclusive environment for pupils with autism, complex learning needs, and social, emotional, and behavioural differences.
This is a brilliant opportunity for a Clinical Psychologist who wants to make a genuine impact in a setting that values emotional wellbeing, teamwork, and creativity. You will be joining a dedicated multidisciplinary team that works collaboratively to ensure every child receives the psychological, emotional, and educational support they deserve.
Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, deliver, and evaluate evidence-based interventions to enhance pupils’ emotional regulation, mental health, and learning engagement.
• Provide one-to-one and small group therapeutic support, tailored to individual needs.
• Offer psychological consultation, advice, and training to teachers, support staff, and leaders to strengthen understanding of autism, attachment, and neurodiversity.
• Prepare detailed psychological reports, communicating findings clearly to staff, parents, and external agencies.
• Support the ongoing development of the school’s therapeutic and psychologically informed approach.
• Supervise and support Assistant Psychologists and contribute to reflective practice sessions and professional learning.
• Collaborate with parents, carers, and external professionals to ensure holistic, consistent support.
• Contribute to service evaluation, research, and the promotion of best practice in psychological care and education.
Requirements:
• Doctoral qualification in Clinical Psychology (HCPC registered).
• Experience of working with children and young people in education, CAMHS, or specialist school settings.
• Strong understanding of autism, learning disabilities, trauma, and attachment-related needs.
• Proven skills in assessment, formulation, and therapeutic intervention.
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and organisational abilities.
• A compassionate, reflective approach and commitment to inclusive practice.
• Dedication to safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing of children and young people.
In Return, You Will Receive:
• The chance to work in a caring, forward-thinking school community with outstanding facilities.
• Opportunities to lead on clinical practice and contribute to school-wide wellbeing initiatives.
• Access to regular supervision, ongoing CPD, and professional development opportunities.
• A supportive and collaborative team environment that values your expertise and contribution.
• The opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of neurodiverse young people and their families.
