English Teacher – SEND School
This welcoming SEND school is looking to appoint a QTS English Teacher to the team to teach small classes of students with special educational needs. Are you an English Teacher with previous SEND teaching experience? Or perhaps you are looking to make the transition from teaching English in a mainstream setting to delivering engaging lessons to smaller groups of learners?  This is an excellent opportunity for a QTS English teacher to join an outstanding team and make a lasting impact.

As an English Teacher at this school, you will be planning and delivering lessons to small groups of learners with moderate learning needs including Autism, communication impairments, Downs Syndrome, and more. You will be teaching classes of no more than 10 students and will be supported by a dynamic team of Teaching Assistants who understand the individual needs of the learners. This role requires an English Teacher who can tailor their approach to meet the needs of students and can make lessons engaging, nurturing, and interactive.

Role Responsibilities:
  • Plan and deliver English lessons that are differentiated and engaging
  • Teach English to small groups of students with autism and moderate learning needs
  • Create a calm, structured and positive classroom environment
  • Work closely with Teaching Assistants and the wider multidisciplinary team
  • Track progress and adapt learning to meet individual needs
  • Encourage independence, confidence and personal development
Requirements:
  • English Teacher with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience teaching students with SEND, or a passion for SEND education is desirable
  • Ability to differentiate learning and support varied communication needs
  • A calm, patient and nurturing approach to teaching
  • Strong teamwork, resilience and communication skills
