Job Description
Are you an enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant looking to make a real difference in a supportive and nurturing school environment? This special school in South Birmingham is seeking a committed SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team, supporting pupils with a range of additional needs including Autism, MLD, and communication difficulties.
Working closely with teachers and support staff, the SEN Teaching Assistant will help create a positive, structured, and engaging learning environment where every pupil feels safe, understood, and able to thrive. This role is ideal for someone who is patient, resilient, and passionate about supporting children with SEND.
Job Role:
- Supporting pupils with special educational needs across the school.
- Assisting the teacher with lesson delivery and differentiated learning activities.
- Providing 1:1 or small-group support to help pupils achieve learning and social targets.
- Helping pupils regulate emotions, build confidence, and develop independence.
- Working collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other support staff.
- Ensuring a safe and nurturing learning environment at all times.
- Supporting pupils with personal care when necessary.
- A warm, welcoming school with a caring and experienced team.
- Supportive leadership who value staff wellbeing and professional development.
