Job Description
Are you a passionate Health & Social Care Teacher who thrives in small, focused learning environments? An alternative provision in East Birmingham is looking for a skilled Health & Social Care Teacher to join their dedicated team, delivering high-quality lessons to students who have faced barriers to learning. This role is ideal for a teacher who can build strong relationships, adapt lessons to meet individual needs, and maintain high expectations for every learner.
As a Health & Social Care Teacher in this setting, you will teach small groups of Key Stage 4 students, helping them to gain confidence, achieve qualifications, and develop a real interest in Health & Social Care. You will be supported by an experienced leadership team, pastoral staff, and teaching assistants who work together to create a positive and nurturing environment. Strong behaviour management and excellent communication skills are essential, as many students have experienced disruption in their education.
Job Role:
- Teaching Health & Social Care to small groups of KS4 students
- Planning differentiated and engaging lessons that support individual progress
- Working closely with pastoral staff and TA support to meet student needs
- Using positive behaviour strategies to maintain a calm and productive classroom
- Encouraging student confidence, independence, and motivation
- Contributing to the wider life of the provision through teamwork and collaboration
- Support from a committed leadership team that values staff wellbeing
