This welcoming secondary school in Birmingham is seeking a Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team, providing 1-2-1 and small group support across Key Stage 3 and 4. This is a brilliant opportunity for a Teaching Assistant who wants to help young people build confidence, overcome challenges, and thrive in school.
Working as a Teaching Assistant at this school, you will divide your time between classroom support and targeted work within the school’s SEND Hub. You’ll play a vital role in helping students with additional needs access learning, stay engaged, and feel valued every step of the way. This role requires previous experience as a Teaching Assistant and ideally you will hold a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification.
Job Role:
- Supporting students on a 1-2-1 basis to help remove barriers to learning
- Providing small group intervention as part of the SEND Hub
- Assisting the class teacher with lesson delivery and differentiation
- Helping students with organisation, emotional regulation, and engagement
- Encouraging positive behaviour and attitudes to learning
- Working with the SENDCo and wider team to meet individual needs
- Experience working as a Teaching Assistant or supporting young people
- Confidence supporting students with additional or SEND need
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A positive attitude and the ability to build trust with young people
- Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
- Support from an experienced SEND and pastoral team
