What you’ll do:
Work with identified pupils to deliver steady, structured support in class and through short intervention blocks. You’ll break tasks into clear steps, use visual schedules/now-next boards, and scaffold transitions so lessons feel predictable and safe. Sessions will target communication, self-regulation and core literacy/numeracy. You’ll capture crisp notes on progress and agree next actions with teachers and the SENCO to keep provision joined up.

A thoughtful graduate who communicates plainly, holds consistent boundaries, and builds trust without over-prompting. You’re organised, reflective, and comfortable adjusting your approach mid-lesson when a strategy isn’t landing.
Requirements
- Degree – A 2:2 or above in any subject.
- Communication – Clear, confident written and verbal skills.
- Enhanced DBS – Held already or willingness to obtain.
- Desire to work in education/with children – Genuine interest in SEN, behaviour and pupil wellbeing.
- Experience working with children – Any relevant experience (SEN support, mentoring, tutoring, volunteering) is desirable but not essential.
