The Role:
You will give steady 1:1 and small group support so pupils can start, stick with and finish tasks. Before lessons, you will preview key vocabulary, task steps and expected outcomes. In class, you will break work into simple chunks, use visual prompts, and model how to plan and check answers. You will set short goals, use quiet cues to refocus, and arrange brief reset breaks when needed. After lessons, you will log quick outcomes, flag triggers and wins, and agree next actions with subject teachers and the SENCO so strategies stay consistent across the timetable.
 
The Candidate & Requirements:
You are patient, observant and direct. You keep routines tight and help pupils build independence.

  • Degree, 2:2 or above in Psychology or a closely related subject.
  • Communication, clear written and spoken English.
  • Enhanced DBS, held already or willingness to obtain.
  • Desire to work in education/with young people, strong interest in autism and wellbeing.
  • Experience with children or young people is desirable but not essential.
