The Role
A Birmingham secondary school is seeking a committed Maths Teacher to join their team from January 2026 on a long-term basis. You’ll be teaching Maths across KS3 and KS4, delivering engaging lessons that build confidence, deepen understanding, and prepare students for exam success.
You will take responsibility for planning and delivering high-quality lessons, tracking progress, and adapting your approach to meet the needs of mixed-ability groups. This assignment is ideal for a teacher who enjoys creating a positive learning climate and using clear, structured teaching to secure strong outcomes.
The Candidate
The school is looking for a teacher who brings both subject expertise and a calm, consistent presence in the classroom. The ideal candidate will be:
- A qualified Maths specialist with QTS or ECT status
- Confident teaching the full Maths curriculum at KS3 and KS4
- Skilled in behaviour management and maintaining purposeful lessons
- Able to deliver clear explanations, scaffold learning, and stretch higher-ability students
- Organised, reliable, and committed to supporting students’ long-term progress
