The Role
A forward-thinking Birmingham secondary school is looking for an enthusiastic Food Technology Teacher to join them from December 2025. This is a full-time, long-term role within the Design Technology faculty, teaching Food Technology across KS3 and KS4.
You’ll plan and deliver practical and theory lessons that build students’ skills, confidence and creativity. The school is seeking someone who can bring fresh ideas to the curriculum, promote safe and engaging practical work, and raise achievement through structured, well-resourced teaching.
 
The Candidate
The successful candidate will:
  • Hold QTS (applications from ECTs are fully welcomed)
  • Have solid knowledge of Food Technology and related DT curriculum
  • Be confident managing a practical classroom environment safely
  • Deliver high-quality lessons that support progress across mixed-ability groups
  • Bring strong organisational skills and a proactive, professional approach
Experience with GCSE Food Preparation & Nutrition is advantageous, but not essential.
