Qualified Social Worker – Family Support & Protection
📍 Location: North West
💷 Pay: £39 per hour

We're recruiting for a skilled professional to join a well-resourced Family Support and Protection Team in the North West. About the Role
As part of the Family Support and Protection Service, you'll manage a diverse caseload that includes:
  • Children on Child Protection Plans
  • Children requiring Care and Support
  • Families involved in Care Proceedings
You’ll work in a multi-agency setting, using your professional judgement and statutory knowledge to assess risk, plan interventions, and deliver meaningful, child-focused support.

What We’re Looking For
To thrive in this role, you’ll need to be compassionate, resilient, and confident in managing complex situations.
Registered with Social Work England
A degree in Social Work (or equivalent SW, CSS, DipSW)
4+ years post-qualified experience in statutory children’s services
Strong understanding of child protection legislation and safeguarding procedures
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Proven ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary environment
A commitment to promoting positive change and long-term outcomes for children
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out strength-based assessments to identify risks and needs
  • Develop and implement child-centred care plans
  • Work in partnership with families and external agencies
  • Use legal frameworks to safeguard and promote wellbeing
  • Provide mentoring and support to students and unqualified staff where appropriate
