PSHE Teacher – SEMH School – Birmingham
Are you a passionate PSHE Teacher who believes in empowering young people through meaningful, life-focused education? This fantastic SEMH school in Birmingham is seeking a dedicated PSHE Teacher to join their committed and supportive team.

This is an opportunity to teach small groups of secondary-aged students who have social, emotional and mental health needs. The school provides excellent facilities, an outstanding leadership team, and a strong pastoral structure that ensures every student receives the support they need to thrive — both academically and personally.

Job Role:
  • Teaching PSHE to small classes of Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 students with SEMH needs.
  • Planning engaging, relevant, and practical lessons that help students develop confidence, emotional resilience, and life skills.
  • Working closely with the pastoral team, SENCO, and teaching assistants to provide a consistent and nurturing learning environment.
  • Managing behaviour calmly and positively, encouraging students to make the right choices and take pride in their progress.
  • Contributing to whole-school initiatives that promote wellbeing, personal development, and positive behaviour.
  • Building strong relationships with students and creating a safe, supportive classroom culture.
Requirements:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Experience teaching PSHE or a related subject, ideally in a SEND or SEMH setting.
  • A nurturing and resilient approach to teaching and behaviour management.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • A genuine commitment to helping every student achieve their potential.
